We reached out to club coaches around the state to find out which of their rising 9th graders are poised to make an impact in the 2023 season. These players were provided by those coaches and some by their High School coaches after tryouts had concluded. The list below does not intentionally leave anyone athlete or team out, we are only reporting the information we’ve been given!
Attack
Koren Vanterpool – Page
Koren is a fast twitch x attackmen that manipulates his defender around the crease by using explosive bursts and timely hesitations. His field vision and play making ability is next level.
Jack Pisciotta – Davie County
Jack is one the smartest players in the Triad region, his Lax IQ is through the roof. Lefty attackmen that can beat you in a magnitude of ways. Throwback lacrosse player that gets the job done.
Jake Bisbee – Greensboro Day
Jake is the fastest and most elusive out the bunch. He can and will run by and turn the corner with ease. He has great inside finishing skills and can light up the goal from 12 yds.
Midfield
Joe Hauck – Mooresville
Joe is a Two way midfielder that possesses elite level speed and quickness. He is a Three sport athlete who is an absolute nightmare to defend on the lacrosse field and he’s only scratching the surface of his ability.
Sean Brennan – Greensboro Day
Sean is a throwback do it all midfielder who can face off, fill up the net, and lock you down defensively. His sheer power is impressive clocking 90 plus on the Radar.
Harper Patterson Midfield RJ Reynolds
Harper is a rangy two way midfielder that runs like a gazelle in the open field. He is an elite scorer with great lax IQ. He’s also one of the defensive players in the Triad regardless of age.
Wyatt Coffield – Greensboro Day
Wyatt is a physically imposing offensive threat. There is no stopping him once he gets down hill. He has an incredible over hand blast that’s almost clocking triple digits on the Radar. He’s a diamond in the rough with an exceptional upside.
Nate Garbe – Mooresville
Nate is an explosive player out of the midfield that is dangerous when shooting on the run, he has great field awareness and plays with relentless effort. He is one of the best overall athletes in the 2026 class. He should see the field a lot as a Freshman this season.
Defense
Jaxton Davis – Greensboro Day
Jaxton is a fierce competitor that can play all over the field. He has uncanny take away ability and has Houdini like escapability with the ball in his stick.
Cooper Boyd – NW Guilford
Cooper is a physical defender that plays great position and is one of the best goal line defenders in the region. He has great stick skills and will score on you if you leave him open once he runs over the midline.
Tre Parrett – NW Guilford
Tre is a ball hawk that loves to play in the middle third. He is an offensive minded player that wreaks havoc on opposing teams with his relentless play.
Paolo Criscuolo – Greensboro Day
Paolo is a top defensive player in the Triad, his overall defensive play reminds us of a seasoned student-athlete. He possesses great feet, great hands, and defends the goal line extremely well.
